How long will the light kits last? When will I need to replace the kit? If I replace my stock bulbs with higher wattage bulbs, will the extra heat melt the light protection kit? When I had the kit installed on my headlights they looked fine, but now they look foggy? Q: How is Clear Auto Bra applied? A: The urethane film comes to us in bulk form and we computer cut designs to exactly fit various surfaces. The film is then applied using the same method as window film. back to top >>> Q: How long will Clear Auto Bra last? Our product is warranted for 5 years against cracking or yellowing and the film has been known to last as long as 7 years or more. Of course, whether the vehicle is garaged and/or washed and waxed on a regular basis will make a big difference. back to top >>> Q: Will it stop bug acid from etching a painted or clear coat surface? A: Acidic reaction from bugs does not take place on the surface of the film and residue can be washed off with soap and water. back to top >>> Q: Will paint fade differently under the Clear Auto Bra than it does on the rest of the vehicle? A: As long as you maintain the vehicle's paint on a regular basis, washing and waxing, there will be no discernable difference. back to top >>> Q: Will it really help prevent stones from chipping the paint? A: Yes. The urethane film is energy absorbent and was originally designed to prevent damage on the leading edge of helicopter rotor blades. back to top >>> Q: Can I see the film after it has been applied? A: The film is 99.5% optically clear and is virtually invisible. back to top >>> Q: Why should I use Clear Auto Bra instead of a cloth bra? A: Cloth bras are not permanently affixed to a vehicle and causes chaffing on the paint, and continuous moisture under the cloth will cause clouding on the clear coat. Clear Auto Bra protects the painted surfaces without damaging the paint and does not change the appearance of the vehicle. back to top >>> Q: Can it be removed? Clear Auto Bra is removable (but why would you want to?), but is not reusable. back to top >>> Q: Does the application of these kits adversely affect the illumination of my lights? A: Any difference in the illumination quality of protected lights is undetectable to the human eye. You will not notice any difference in the performance of your headlights. back to top >>> Q: How long will the light kits last? When will I need to replace the kit? A: The material these kits are made from is designed to last 8 years or longer. Since most people don't keep their cars for more than 4 years, in most cases there will be no need to ever replace the kit on your vehicle. back to top >>> Q: If I replace my stock headlamp/fog lamp bulbs with higher wattage bulbs, will the extra heat melt the light protection kit? A: The film is recommended for stock lights from the factory. Some aftermarket light wattage may cause too much heat build-up and a hazying effect in the film. back to top >>> Q: When I had the kit installed on my headlights they looked fine, but now they look foggy? A: When using the wet application technique, this is normal. The fog is the result of the alcohol/water solution evaporating under the film. The water vapor that is produced results in a hazy appearance for several days. The haze will clear as the water vapor dissipates. back to top >>> |
